GIMOTA fully rubberised connectors

Solutions for the toughest environments and weather conditions

GIMOTA fully rubberised connectors

In railway technology, connectors are not only subjected to constantly high shock, vibration and temperature loads, but also to strongly changing environmental influences. In order to function faultlessly at all times, they must be robust enough to withstand these harsh conditions. The outstanding feature of the fully rubberised connectors is their high resistance to the harshest environments and weather conditions. The elastomer used guarantees long-lasting function in harsh environments, for a long period of time. This connector, like all Gimota connectors, is characterised by easy assembly.

The fully rubberised connectors have been specially optimised and tested for rail vehicles and meet the standard regarding smoke toxicity and flammability EN45545-2 R22,R23 – HL1,HL2,HL3 as well as the shock and vibration standards IEC 61373: 2010. The sheathing is made of modified ethylene acrylate GXF, which is characterised by high resistance and flame resistance. This provides reliable operation even under extreme conditions. For example, for regions with regular sandstorms, or for railways travelling through desert regions. They are available with or without shield connection (EMC). The shield connection with iris spring enables good and safe shield contacting of 360° both with partially stripped and fully exposed cable shields.

GIMOTA fully rubberised sensor connectors for silicone cables

The GIMOTA EMC connector with iris spring enables good and safe shield contacting of 360° with both, partially stripped and fully exposed cable shields. The advantage of a shield spring compared to a shield compression is the higher flexibility in cable selection.

GIMOTA fully rubberised sensor connectors for silicone cables

Optimum shield contacting
The powerful clamping of the cable shield via the shield spring guarantees excellent shield contact and ensures low transfer impedances.

Flexible contacting options
The iris spring optimally compensates for different shield thickness’s.

Solid rubber coating
High resistance in the toughest environments and weather conditions.

GIMOTA fully rubberised connectors with hose connection

The fully rubberised connectors are optionally available with a hose adapter. This allows the attachment of a cable protection hose as additional protection against environmental influences.
